BIO
Greg Johnson has served as Theologian-in-Residence at the Center for Christian Study (St. Louis) and is currently Associate Pastor at Memorial Presbyterian Church. He holds a PhD in Historical Theology from St. Louis University as well as degrees from the University of Virginia and Covenant Theological Seminary, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1997, receiving the school's Theology Award that year. He is the global expert on the historical and theological development of the quiet time in Anglo-American Protestant devotionalism between 1870 and 1950. His favorite color is still orange. Pumpkin, burnt orange, rust, even with stripes.
Greg is the author of The World According to God: A Biblical View of Culture, Work, Science, Sex & Everything Else (InterVarsity Press, 2002), which is about everything. It's available used in English or crisp and brand new in Portuguese. And at 208 pages, that's concise. Greg is also an ordained minsiter in the Presbyterian Church in America.
Greg grew up in Washington, DC, and became a Christian through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in 1990. In the late 1990s, he really came to appreciate the textural richness, warmth and patina of wood products. He hates plastic. Fine for hospital supplies, but not for the home. He still goes crazy over a nice Corbusier LC2 Petit Confort club chair. He's committed to the social, spiritual and cultural renewal of the City of Saint Louis. When he can, he walks through Forest Park or around his Central West End neighborhood. When he has to drive, he drives a Mini Cooper. Greg is 36, though he used to be younger. That means he is now within a ten percent margin or error of 40. But he still gets carded when he buys booze.
